OS X Lion on Lenovo G560 Core i3

Since I succeeded in installing OS X Snow Leopard on my Lenovo G560 laptop I thought about upgrading to 10.7 (Lion) though you know the old rule in computing: Never (ever) change a running system!
Well, I thought "Why not give it a try?"
Or would you like to have stayed with your old Atari TOS 1.0, MS/DR-DOS 1.0, AmigaOS 1.0, QDOS or even C/PM?

So taking no risk I made a backup of the whole HD with Time Machine and was willing to pay another 23.99 Euro for OS X Lion at the Apple Store though I like "hardware", i.e. a DVD. What can you do wrong with that kind of affordable price? To my surprise my system failed to acquire the new OS - it said I already had it installed.
What's wrong?

Was nachweislich nicht stimmt.
Was nun?

Ubuntu Linux 10.04 on Lenovo G560 i3

Actually I was planning to install all three major OS on the Lenovo G560 but failed to create a working triple-boot system since the booting process just worked partially and only with GRUB as bootloader. First of all you needed to prepare the HD as MBR instead of Apple's GUID but then it happened that very often OSX wasn't able to boot or only in 32 bit mode.
Finally I realized that the newest Ubuntu version was not working on my G560. The only and last version without kernel panic was and is still 10.04 in 64 bit mode. Any other just wouldn't start up.
This is actually quite surprising since the hardware is still quite up-to-date and since 10.04 is working fine I don't see why Ubuntu shouldn't run on this laptop.
However, up to now I haven't been able to create a tripple boot laptop since on the one hand the OSX bootloader runs fine - actually much better than GRUB - but on the other hand it doesn't recognize the Linux partition so I cannot boot Ubuntu. If anyone has an idea how to get this working I'd appreciate any hint.
